storm
the earth holds her breath
and the air hangs
heavy as a sleeping child
far away
thunder rumbles a warning
and the wind puffs
tiny cool-breath promises
clouds boil and bubble
darken and double
and light drops
sudden as a lightbolt
it arrives
stormbreath
stormlight
stormroar
sky empties
angry fistful after fistful
rainballs
bouncing sliding running away until
the earth wakes fresh
the day begins again
