History

What were you doing on this wintery-type day in Melbourne? I spent the day with my cousin's daughter (so ... my second cousin?) revisiting our shared history.

She was keen to see where my aunt - her grandmother - had worked. We did that, but we also looked specifically and more generally at history.

I told her about our ancestors who had pubs in Richmond and the city and may or may not have had associations with well-known crime figures.

We talked about Melbourne city and how it came to be laid out as it is.

I talked about a couple of my upcoming books about women and history and quilts and ship-journeys.

She talked about her plans for short, medium and long term living.

Oh, and we ate cake. :)
